$95.00
Fraction screen saver is included.
Screen saver is installed in demo download,
but you must set it in Control Panel > Display > Screen Saver.

This package teaches and provides practice in almost all areas of academic work with fractions.

Everything related to fractions that you see on this entire site is included in the Fraction Package.

You may also view more information about the different components of the program on the Programs page. Because of how my shopping cart is programmed, you must to through the Programs page, and scroll down to the particular component you wish to view. On this page, I have included additional information about the individual components.

There are 4 sections in the program, and the sections have several components.
Recognizing Fractions - 3 components
Denominators
Numerators and Denominators
Parts of a group

Equivalent Fractions - 6 components
Equivalent Fractions (step by step)
Equivalent Fractions (without steps)
Reduce to Lowest Terms (step by step)
Reduce to Lowest Terms (without steps)
Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers (step by step)
Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers (without steps)

Add and Subtract Fractions - 6 components
Add Like Denominators
Add Unlike Denominators
Add Mixed Numbers
Subtract Like Denominators
Subtract Unlike Denominators
Subtract Mixed Numbers

Multiply and Divide Fractions - 4 components
Multiply Proper Fractions
Multiply Mixed Numbers
Divide Proper Fractions
Divide Mixed Numbers

I have started with fraction concepts and continue through addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and mixed numbers.
Introduction movies give instruction. Interactive practice guides students as they practice their skills.
Throughout the program, students must complete a step successfully before proceeding to the next step.

I often became frustrated when I taught in the classroom and tried to guide a group of students through the steps for a particular skill, in proper order.
It is important to perform a step correctly before advancing to the next step, but I could not watch 20 or more students simultaneously.
When students perform pencil and paper steps out of order, or skip steps, or move to the next step when the previous one was done incorrectly (reaching inaccurate results), it becomes harder to teach a skill correctly. But I could not always stop a student before a skill had been practiced incorrectly.

I wrote this program to guarantee student success. Students may use the program independently, but they CANNOT proceed to the next step until the current task is performed correctly.
Help is given whenever an incorrect response is entered.

Throughout the program, I have used illustrations and a unique color scheme to help students build an intuitive understanding of the concepts that are taught in this program package.

You may view more details of the denominator component of this program.

Go to the Programs page and choose Recognizing Fractions.

You may download a free demo version of the entire fraction package.

Here are some examples from the introduction movie and the interactive components of numerators.

You may view more details of the numerator component of this program.

Third graders are introduced to equivalent fractions (including reducing to lowest terms), improper fractions, and mixed numbers.

Throughout my entire fraction program, the student's attention is immediately aroused if a denominator of 0 is entered anywhere.

A screen appears, flashing alternately red and yellow, with a sound that causes children to jump.

The next screen illustrates why division by zero is undefined.

Scores are awarded throughout the program.

The points for each problem increase as the student moves to more difficult levels of the program.
Points are lost for incorrect entries, but the student never "goes in the hole."

When a student completes a set of problems, he or she may enter the Hall of Fame.
The top ten scores are displayed.

A bonus, included only in the Fraction Package, is a fraction calculator.

Any pair of fractions or improper fractions may be entered, and any operation may be chosen.
The answer will be given in a proper fraction or mixed number, reduced to lowest terms.

Specific parts of the program are priced separately at $39.50.

However, for teachers and/or parents who wish to use the entire series for children as young as second grade, and continuing until 5th or 6th grade (or older, for students who struggle with math), I have packaged all components of the fraction package, plus a fraction screen saver on a single CD.

The Fraction Calculator is included only in the Fraction Package.

Purchasing the programs separately would total $158.00
Fraction Package is priced at $95.00
