Maple Tree Learning Center Educational Game Downloads

To play these games, you will need DirectX 7 or later.
Computers with Windows 98 or earlier might need a newer version.
An update may be downloaded from Microsoft, but I suggest that you try the game before updating DirectX.

DirectX is a free download, but if you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you already have a current version..
(Note: You do not need DirectX to download or run my interactive educational programs.

Falling Erasers --
download here
This fast paced game supports knowledge of multiples of numbers 2 through 9.
Each time the student plays, a random number between 2 and 9 is chosen.
Erasers drop at varying speeds. The trash can is moved with the right and left arrow keys.

The object of the game is to catch the "good" erasers (which are multiples of the particular number), and let the "bad" erasers fall the floor. Scoring depends on which are caught, and which are dropped. The score increases or decreases by a multiple of the particular number.

Erase Fractions -- download here
This is another fast paced game where the eraser is constantly moving. The student changes direction with the arrow keys.

There are 3 levels of the game. In the first, the eraser is to be guided over fractions that are either greater than 1/2 or less than 1/2 (this is randomly determined, so it will vary from play to play). These fractions are all programmed by me, to keep the fractions fairly easy.

In level 2, the eraser is to be guided over fractions equal to or greater than 1/2, or equal to or less than 1/2. This is randomly determined. The actual fraction values are also randomly determined, which adds variety and difficulty to the game.

In the advanced level (level 3), the fractions are randomly determined, also the value sought is randomly determined. Level 3 is particularly challenging.

In all 3 levels, incorrect passes with the eraser cause the fraction to turn red, to teach as the student plays the game. Correct passes "erase" the particular fraction.
